Privacy policy
The short version: we never get your files. Every tool runs inside your browser. To see how many people use the site, we count visits with Google Analytics.
Your files: we never get them
When you use a tool, your file or text is read by your own browser and processed in that tab. It is never uploaded, and nothing on InTheTab can receive it: the site is a set of static pages with no upload endpoint and no accounts.
Each page also sends a Content Security Policy that tells your browser which servers the page may talk to: InTheTab itself and Google Analytics, nothing else. Our code never sends file names, contents, sizes or anything you type into a tool to either. You can check it yourself with your browser’s developer tools: here is how.
Two things that do download
- Background remover. The first time you use it, your browser downloads an open-source AI model from Hugging Face and its runtime from jsDelivr. Those services see your IP address, like any download. Your image is never sent to them.
- Video downloader. It only works when you run InTheTab on your own computer. On the website it shows setup instructions and does nothing else.
What Google Analytics collects
We use Google Analytics 4 to learn which tools are useful and how people find the site. It records:
- which pages you visit and for how long;
- how you arrived, such as a search engine, a shared link or a campaign link;
- your approximate location (country and city), worked out by Google from your IP address. Google Analytics doesn’t store the IP address itself;
- your device type, browser, operating system, screen size and language;
- when you run a tool or download a result, the name of the tool (for example “compress-pdf”);
- words you type into the tool search on the home page, so we can see which tools people are missing.
It never receives your files, file names, file sizes, passwords, or text you type or paste into a tool. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and we don’t show ads.
Cookies and storage
_gaand_ga_…are set by Google Analytics to tell new visitors from returning ones. They last up to two years.inthetab-analyticsis stored in your browser (not a cookie) if you answer the analytics question, so we don’t ask again.
There are no advertising cookies and no cookies of our own.
Your choice
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you choose “Allow” in the banner. Elsewhere they are on by default. Every tool works the same either way.
You can also block Google Analytics everywhere with a content blocker, your browser’s tracking protection, or Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Who else handles data
- Google processes the analytics data. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.
- Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host, it handles the requests that deliver pages to you, including your IP address. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
How long it is kept
Google Analytics keeps visit data for 14 months and then deletes it. Reports built from it show totals, not individual people.
Your rights and questions
Because we never get your files and have no accounts, we hold very little about you. If you have a question, or want to ask about data from your visits, email karwa.sandesh@gmail.com. We’ll answer within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Changes never affect the main promise: we never get your files.
