How to convert an image to JPG
- Choose your images. Click the box above and pick one file or many. Mixed formats are fine. They open in this tab; nothing is sent anywhere.
- Set quality and fill colour. 90% quality is a good default; lower it for smaller files. JPG can’t store transparency, so see-through areas of a PNG or WebP are filled with the colour you pick (white unless you change it).
- Convert and download. Each image gets its own Download link, with the size before and after and the pixel dimensions. With two or more, Download all saves them one after another.
Good to know
- Any image your browser can open works. That covers PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and, in current browsers, AVIF. HEIC photos from an iPhone work too: if your browser can’t read them, the tab loads the libheif decoder on first use.
- Same size in, same size out. The JPG keeps the original width and height. To make it smaller in pixels, use Resize image.
- Animated GIFs become a still JPG. JPG has no animation, so you get a single frame.
- Photo details are removed. The JPG is drawn fresh from the pixels, so camera details and GPS location are not copied across.
- Download all saves separate files. There’s no ZIP. Your browser may ask once whether to allow several downloads.
Your images stay on your device
Most online converters upload your files to their servers. Here, every image is decoded and saved as a JPG inside this browser tab, using your browser’s own image tools. That matters for screenshots of bank statements, scanned ID cards or anything else you’d rather not hand over.
The page’s security policy tells your browser to block uploads, so your images can’t leave your device even by accident. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, watch the Network tab, and convert an image. How InTheTab works
You’ll also see a few small requests to Google Analytics. That’s our visit counter, and it never receives your files. Privacy policy
Questions
How do I convert PNG to JPG?
Pick your PNG files above, choose a fill colour for any transparent parts and click Convert to JPG. Then download each result, or use Download all.
Why did the transparent background turn white?
Those areas were see-through in the original. JPG has no transparency, so they are filled with the colour in “Fill for transparent areas”. Pick a colour that matches where the image will be used.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes. Select as many as you like; there’s no fixed limit. They are converted one at a time to keep memory use low on phones, so a big batch takes a little while.
Do I need to install anything or sign up?
No. It runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android or iPhone. It’s free, there’s no sign-up and no watermark is added.
