InTheTab We never get your files

QR code generator, free with no sign-up

Pick what the code should do and fill in the details. The code updates as you type and never expires: everything a phone needs is stored in the code itself.

How to make a QR code

  1. Choose a type. Contact, Website, Wi-Fi, WhatsApp or Text.
  2. Fill in the details. The code is redrawn as you type. Point your phone camera at the screen to test it.
  3. Download it. PNG is a sharp image of at least 1024 pixels for documents and social posts. SVG scales to any size without blurring, so use it for print.

Good to know

  • Static codes never expire. The web address, Wi-Fi password or contact details are written into the code, not stored on a server, so it keeps working for as long as the details are right. The flip side: to change them, make a new code.
  • Wi-Fi codes join the network in one tap. iPhone and Android cameras read them natively. Pick the right security type, and tick Hidden network if the network name isn’t broadcast.
  • WhatsApp codes open a chat. They link to wa.me with the number and, if you add one, a message ready to send. Include the country code.
  • Contact codes are vCards. Scanning one offers to save the name, phone, email, company, job title and website to the phone’s contacts.
  • Black on white, with a quiet margin. The code uses medium error correction (level M), so it still scans with a small smudge or crease. There are no colour or logo options.

Your details stay on your device

Many QR sites send what you type to their servers, and some route your code through their own short link so they can count scans or switch it off later. Here, the code is drawn in this browser tab: your Wi-Fi password, phone number or email address is never sent anywhere, and the code points straight at your content.

The page’s security policy tells your browser to block uploads, so your details can’t leave your device even by accident. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, watch the Network tab, and type in the form. How InTheTab works

You’ll also see a few small requests to Google Analytics. That’s our visit counter, and it never receives your files. Privacy policy

Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes with no tracking link in between, so there is no subscription to run out. A Website code stops working only if the website itself goes away.

How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code?

Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name and password exactly as they are on your router, and pick the security type. Most home networks use WPA. Print it or show it on screen, and guests can join by scanning it with their camera.

Can I track how many people scanned it?

No. Counting scans needs a server in the middle that records each visit, which is the opposite of what this tool does. If you need scan counts, add tracking to the web address itself, for example with UTM tags.

Is it free for business use? Do I need to sign up?

It’s free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you make. Use them on menus, flyers, packaging or business cards.
